Herdwick sheep are a hardy breed that seem to be found everywhere in the Lake District. They stare down intruders until they decide you're not a threat, then continue eating.

This painting was done for the horse’s owner in the UK.

I like the calmness of a stable so in this painting I wanted the horse‘s home to be as important as the animal itself.

These are a couple of sketches I did in gouache on a recent rip down south.

On river street there's no shortage of places to stop and take a break to watch the ships make their way along the Savannah River.

The heritage buildings on river street are required to maintain their original characteristics.The old architecture makes for some interesting backdrops to the locals and visiting tourists , going about their days.This is one of a series of  sketches I painted while travelling down there.

DARTMOOR

South west England

I recently reworked this painting after starting it about 30 years ago.

Although Dartmoor is the location of one of the UK's most infamous prisons, the sheep are free to wander wherever the want.

FIVE ROSES

The iconic Five Roses sign is a protected, Montreal landmark.

So when the building was sold to one of Five Rose's competitors, it put the new owners in the unfortunate position of having to display it's competitors name.
